Nottingham based outfit Tusken Coalition return with a double ‘A’ side, ‘Amphetamine Romance’ bw ‘Demon Womb’, the first new material since their well received self titled debut.
‘Amphetamine Romance’ sees the core members joined by Princess Nomi, adding her smokey voice to the gritty business going on. With beats created purely by deck juggling, the track strikes a good balance and adds new colour to the Tusken palette.
Meanwhile, ‘Demon Womb’ finds guest 8ch letting loose over a fat synth line and deft old school scratching, airing the group’s heavier side,a suitable flip side to ‘Amphetamine Romance’.
Both tracks are a great indication of the outfit’s capabilities and evolving sound, taking Hip Hop to unforeseen, intriguing places, and sound pretty damned good too.
