Adam Freeland – The Hate EP

Dirty electro break beats

After the sample-heavy, agit-techno of 2003’s Now & Then, DJ and producer Adam Freeland returns with a less political agenda on this EP, though titles like HATE and Where’s Your God Now? maintain a healthy level of provocation.

The focus is on dirty electro break beats and the title track judders like an idling motorcycle waiting to roar into action though too cleverly minimalist to ever bother doing so. Where’s Your God Now? is more tuneful though still nasty, like Daft Punk with tattoos and beer belly, while Glowsticks buzzes and twitches like a faulty neon light. Dirty and compulsive.
