Zeppelin Name Change

Band May Tour Under New Name

Led Zeppelin members Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham may tour under another name, it has emerged.

The group reformed last year for a benefit concert in the O2 Arena – a concert that saw fans travel the globe paying astronomical fees for the privilege. Since then Led Zeppelin have been dogged by rumors suggesting a tour may be in the offing, with bassist John Paul Jones confirming in a recent interview that the band have been rehearsing.

However, vocalist Robert Plant has refused to go on tour citing exhaustion and a lack of desire to make heavy, electric music. The remaining trio have apparently been trying to find a replacement, but a spokesman for guitarist Jimmy Page’s management company QPrime told US magazine Rolling Stone: “Whatever this is, it is not Led Zeppelin. Not without the involvement of Robert Plant.”

Amongst the candidates for the vocalist role are Steven Tyler and Chris Cornell, formerly of Audioslave.

There has been no official announcement on a Led Zeppelin tour, or whether the trio would be allowed to use the name.
