Holland's Zanillya needs to be true to herself.
Releasing a slew of dancehall-tinged tropical pop burners, she's marked herself out as a vocalist to watch, with her hook-heavy R&B approach blessed with colossal potential.
New single 'In It 4 A Lifetime' is perhaps her most personal moment yet, a track that melds her ineffable pop touch to elements of her Aruban and Macedonian heritage.
The result is curiously idiosyncratic, the sound of a newcomer taking club tropes and melding them to her own life, her own outlook.
Lyrically it cuts a little deeper, too, with Zanillya focussing on family, loss, and the power it takes to continue.
She explains: "Struggling with insecurity and self-doubt my entire life, this song came to me in a moment where I had looked within myself and decided to push forward regardless of the circumstances. It was a point in my life where I felt like giving up but then realizing I could never let go."
"My dad tried to explain the artist’s faith to me while he was alive, yet I never got the paradox of it until this song was born..."
