The BBC have confirmed that Zane Lowe is set to leave Radio 1 in March to take up a position at Apple in the United States.
The New Zealand personality joined the station in 2003, quickly drawing attention with his energetic, enthusiastic style.
Remaining an enormously popular presenter, Zane Lowe has successfully grown and diversified his show.
The ongoing Zane Meets… interviews, for example, have scored notable world exclusives, including a lengthy interview with Kanye West.
Set to complete his final show on March 5th, Zane Lowe will be replaced with Annie Mac.
Zane Lowe: "I want to thank everyone at Radio 1 for their support and friendship. "The station has allowed me to share incredible music with the country's best music fans."
Annie Mac – who began her career as a broadcast assistant on Zane's show – said: "I am so excited and humbled to be asked to do this show. The thing I love about music radio is those private epiphanies it provides.”
"Having 11 hours of airtime a week to share those moments with music that has no boundaries is beyond a job, it's a privilege. And to be following in the footsteps of Zane Lowe, a broadcaster that I respect and admire enormously, is a huge honour. I can't wait to get started."
