Yungmorpheus Links With Joe Armon-Jones On Jazz-Rap Burner ‘Distant Place’

New on Lex...

Yungmorpheus has teamed up with Joe Armon-Jones on new single ‘Distant Place’.

The American rapper hails from Miami but has drifted his way across to Los Angeles, perfecting his hazy flow along the way. Drawn to left-field beats, Yungmorpheus has been signed to Lex, with new EP ‘Burnished Sums’ due to land on November 18th.

New single ‘Distant Place’ is out now, a slice of jazz-rap that pivots between classic influences – think Digable Planets, Guru’s seminal mid 90s work – and future-facing sonics, with London musician Joe Armon-Jones dipping in on production.

There’s an expansive elasticity to the track, with Joe Armon-Jones utilising a painterly touch in his jazz-fuelled dynamics. Yungmorpheus rises to the challenge, his bars showing real dexterity, alongside an incredible confidence in his own ability.

Tune in now.
