Youth Sector’s ‘The Ball’ Is An Irresistible Alt-Pop Jewel

Tune in now...

Brighton risers Youth Sector have shared new single ‘The Ball’.

Out now, the single follows a hectic summer of festival spots, with Youth Sector charming all in their path. It’s little wonder, too, with songs like ‘The Ball’ in their arsenal – sharp, witty, alt-pop, it takes indie songcraft and injects some melody into its DNA.

A buzzy brand of alt-pop that charms at every turn, ‘The Ball’ grapples with Devo-esque outsider tendencies, yet its also worth filing alongside the pristine indie-pop of late-lamented UK types Golden Silvers.

An intelligent feast of songwriting worthy of fellow Brighton luminaries Metronomy, ‘The Ball’ deals with partygate, political hypocrisy, and the need for authorities to face judgement – “you sank the ship…”

Out now on Dance To The Radio, the single leads in to the band’s upcoming EP ‘Adult Contemporary’ – check ’em out at London’s 100 Club on October 21st.

Tune in now.
