Young T & Bugsey are marking their return with latest single, ‘Been A Minute’.
Following a two-year hiatus, the Nottingham duo are back in the studio, tackling their bars and production from a point of introspection. Weaving between themes of fatherhood, industry struggles and the transition between Nigeria and the UK, ‘Been A Minute’ delves into the hitmakers’ time spent away from music, elevating their craft through storytelling.
Forming a friendship during their mid-teens, Young T & Bugsey would make their artistic introduction in 2016 with debut single, ‘No Mickey Mouse Ting’. Developing what would later be coined as ‘afro-swing’ through Young T’s production, the duo shot to fame with breakthrough moments like ‘Gangland’, ‘4×4’ and the club-dominating ‘Ay Caramba’.
Taking a moment to calibrate their next steps, Young T & Bugsey arrive with a renewed vision for UK rap, lending their focus to their community. ‘Been A Minute’ undoubtedly marks a new chapter for the duo, reflecting on the life lessons that have shaped their journey thus far.
Tune in now.
