2018 is already shaping up to be a pretty great year.
Why? Well, it's got Young Fathers in it. The Scottish group are slated to release a new album next year, an urgent statement from the Mercury winning force.
New track 'Lord' is online now, opening with tinkling notes of piano and a sparse, meditative atmosphere.
Gathering in intensity, it's further sign that you should never second guess the Edinburgh outfit.
The dramatic visuals were directed by Rianne White, the band's Alloysious Massaquoi states: “For me, the video stemmed from… Like how do you describe an emotion, clearly and precisely when you’re completely immersed in it all? An act of internal withdrawal from the outside world, when all you need from the outside world is for someone, anyone, to show they care.”
While Graham ‘G’ Hastings add: “Kayus brought a rocking horse into the studio one day. God knows why. After we wrote the song, Ally sat on it, took his top off and started riding majestic. Then we thought, why not?”
