Yazz Ahmed Signs To Night Time Stories

And her catalogue is coming back to vinyl...

Jazz composer Yazz Ahmed has signed to Night Time Stories.

The British-Bahraini composer and trumpeter is a leading light in the current UK jazz scene, building an inimitable catalogue. Blending post-bop melodies with aspects of her Arabic heritage, Yazz also has a psychedelic feel to some of her arrangements.

Groundbreaking albums such as ‘Polyhymnia’ and ‘La Saboteuse’ remain exceptional listens, while her 2011 debut album ‘Finding My Way Home’ has proved to have enduring influence.

Signing to Night Time Stories, Yazz Ahmed’s relationship with the label launches by bringing her catalogue back to vinyl. ‘Polyhymnia’ for example is a sought-after rarity, with the limited vinyl pressing fetching prices of more than £150 for a mint copy on Discogs.

Returning to vinyl, this will also represent the first vinyl release for ‘Finding My Way Home’.

The Ivor Novello award-winning composer comments:

I’m absolutely thrilled to have found a new home for my music with Night Time Stories. The care and support from the team at NTS has been second to none and they are a dream to work with. I am extremely excited about the re-releases of my back catalogue, including the vinyl premiere of my 2011 debut album, Finding My Way Home. It feels like the beginning of a very special partnership and I can’t wait to share our plans over the next few months.
