Yakul Open A New Chapter With ‘In The Fire’

Their second album is incoming...

UK future soul specialists Yakul have shared new single ‘In The Fire’.

The band melt together vintage neo-soul tropes gleamed from Erykah Badu and D’Angelo with something defiantly UK-centric; allowing jazz improvisation to bleed into their songwriting, Yakul have hit upon a truly special elixir.

New album ‘Gravity Pulls You Home’ is out on August 2nd – pre-order it now – with a short UK tour timed for September. Yakul will hit the road with a spring in their step, the band’s confidence palpable within lead single ‘In The Fire’.

Out now, it’s a rugged soul bouncer, reminiscent of everyone from Aussie crack troops 30/70 to more UK fare, such as neo-soul goddess Ego Ella May. A dextrous return, Yakul’s multi-faceted creativity has rarely felt so potent and unified.

The band comment…

We’re super proud of this song, even though it goes to many places, it always returns back to where it started in a way that makes sense. It’s like each motif had a gravitational pull that kept us on the right track.

Tune in now.
