Y U QT Share 2-Step Earworm ‘U BELONG 2 ME’

It's the first release on South London Press...

All summer long saw rumours, reports, and plenty of chat about a supposed UK garage resurgence.

While the jury is still out on that one, there's definitely been a lot of heat around the sound, with a clutch of producers taking it in a fresh direction.

Riz La Teef has long been a UKG advocate, and he decided to launch new label South London Press to provide a platform for these sounds.

Y U QT took charge of the inaugural release, a 300 copy white label run of their bolshy system smash 'U BELONG 2 ME'.

It's a real earworm, too, with a clutch of DJs – notably Ben UFO – hammering it in their sets throughout festival season.

Riz comments: "I'd been wanting to start a label for a long time but couldn't think of a name or find any tunes I wanted to put out. Then walking to my local offie one day it had a South London Press awning and it clicked perfect label name! Then the next week the boys sent me a batch of tunes and the rest is history!”

The vinyl run has long sold out, with South London Press now making 'U BELONG 2 ME' available digitally – those piano chords and vocal snippets still sound inspirational, this kind of gospel-leaning, sub-low heavy 2-step work out.

Tune in now.
