Pouring out of the imagination of Jamie Stewart, Xiu Xiu have led a singular career. So why stop now? Confirmed earlier this year, the American outfit are set to release their new studio album ‘Always’ on February 27th.
Produced by Deerhoof’s Greg Saunier and mixed by John Congleton, ‘Always’ will be released on Bella Union. New single ‘Hi’ gives an indication of what to expect – furiously intelligent, the track also has a surreal, beaming sense of humour.
To make a video for ‘Hi’ David Horvitz and Jamie Stewart sifted through mountains of material, mixing tour footage with some home films. The final product features burning dolls, graffiti and more…

Meanwhile, Xiu Xiu are also planning a return to the UK. Announcing several new British shows, the band will finish the tour with a London date on March 16th.
The last time the group visited the UK ClashMusic asked Jamie Stewart to keep a tour diary. Writing a number of Haiku, the series built up into a collection of fascinating vignettes from an American musician on the road.
