Wunderhorse will release new album ‘Midas’ on August 30th.
The band’s 2022 debut album ‘Cub’ became a breakout success, taking them from tiny basement venues to some of the biggest halls in the land. Wunderhorse paused to take focus last year, before flying out to the United States to build their second album.
Utilising Minnesota’s Pachyderm Studio, Wunderhorse teamed with producer Craig Silvey to build their new record. Out on August 30th, it’s called ‘Midas’ and bold new single ‘July’ is on streaming services now.
“When we first went into the studio to make this record, the only thing we were sure about is how we wanted it to sound; very imperfect, very live, very raw; no frills,” Jacob Slater says of the new album. “We wanted it to sound like your face is pressed up against the amplifiers, like you’ve been locked inside the bass drum.”
