Wishy Share Grunge-Inflected Single ‘Sick Sweet’

Their debut album 'Triple Seven' lands next month...

Indiana band Wishy have shared their new single ‘Sick Sweet’, lifted from debut album ‘Triple Seven’ out August 16th via Winspear.

Founded and masterminded by songwriters Kevin Krauter and Nina Pitchkites in 2021, Wishy released their ‘Paradise‘ EP last year but their talent comes into sharp focus on debut full-length, ‘Triple Seven’. Preceding singles ‘Love On The Outside’ and the album’s title track ‘Triple Seven’ teased their new era. Today the band share a new signifier in the form of ‘Sick Sweet’, a bolder, more aggressive number that retains the whimsy and melodic playfulness of their earlier material.

Of the imperious ‘Sick Sweet’, Krauter says: “This song is about wanting something or someone despite doubts or misgivings, and laying it all on the line to see it through. I was inspired by an Oasis interview asking Liam Gallagher what his lyrics are generally about and he says something to the effect of “Just living life” and “Just going for it.” That’s the energy I put into this song.”

Wishy have announced a run of Autumn tour dates to commemorate their new release. They’ll perform a headline show at The Windmill on November 5th, returning a few days later to the capital for the Pitchfork Festival.
