Indianapolis indie all-stars Wishy hit Radio 1 last night (December 3rd) for a special live session.
The band released their ace ‘Triple Seven’ album earlier this year, blending infectious pop energy with indie rock bite. CLASH fell for them hard, and spoke to Wishy about their alt roots in a special edition of our Foundations series.
A dynamic live force, Wishy seem to caught the eyes, ears, and heaven knows what else of Radio 1 host Jack Saunders, who invited them on to his New Music Show.
After a brief interview Wishy fired through raw, peppy renditions of fan favourite cuts ‘Planet Popstar’ and album title track ‘Triple Seven’.
Alongside that, Wishy were invited to race through a cover – and they opted for R.E.M. staple ‘Shiny Happy People’. A rollicking, fun-filled take on the evergreen, the band’s carefree abandon finds fresh space within the song.
As ever, it’s all available on BBC Sounds – it kicks off at 01:19:45.
