Wings Of Desire have shard new single ‘Runnin’.
The UK based duo – James Taylor and Chloe Little – draw inspiration from those early DFA edits, absorbing aspects of shoegaze and Krautrock into their sound. A full UK live run is on the cards for February, and their initial single releases are infused with a dramatic sense of daring.
Indeed, if there’s a cosmische sense of openness to their sound, then perhaps that’s only apt, with Wings Of Desire citing a trip to Germany as being pivotal in their formation. “We were inspired by a trip to Berlin where we visited the legendary Hansa studios, and got drunk at Neues Ufer.”
‘Runnin’ recalls aspects of New Order’s ethereal side, while also nodding to groups like Slowdive. It’s beatific, but the surging rhythmic engine certainly points to the prevailing influence of Neu! say, or Can.
The duo comment…
“Running endlessly in circles under the tight grip of a culture designed to distract us from ourselves. Do we still believe that the internet knows what’s best for us? Maybe it’s time to get off the wheel and see what’s outside.”
Tune in now.
