Wilted Discuss Mental Health Issues On Powerful New Song ‘Final Call’

Featuring members of Chest Pains, Treeboy & Arc, and Glass Mountain...

Wilted is a new group from Leeds, but one that features some familiar faces.

The band include members of Chest Pains, Treeboy & Arc, and Glass Mountain, uniting on a highly personal project.

Second single 'Final Call' deals frankly with mental health issues, an unflinching account of just how destructive depression and anxiety can be.

Brooding post-punk captured in crystalline clarity, the rushing intensity of the largely spoken word delivery perfectly matches the poetry of the lyricism.

The band's Sammy Robinson explains: "I wrote the lyrics to 'Final Call' in January of 2018. At the time my mental health was at it’s lowest peak and I wanted to try and convey the sense of hopelessness that I felt with everything around me."

"I think it’s quite common for people to assume that those who struggle with depression only struggle with their own self-doubts, but for me it was a feeling that my negative mindset was affecting everything around me, whether that be the people I held closest to me or things as simple as the living space I was occupying."
