wilo wilde shakes up her sound on new EP ‘what is a heart?’ – tune in now.
The alt-pop riser blends club sounds with her instinctive melodic touch, resulting in some curious sonic adventures. The California born, Taiwanese-Mexican all-rounder is becoming a force to be reckoned with, vowing never to repeat herself.
A run of recent singles – ‘searching’, ‘all these little words’ and ‘over you‘ – have eased fans into a new chapter, and her latest EP is on streaming now.
‘what is a heart?’ skips from idea to idea – at times leaning on the headlong rush of DNB, there are also moments of soft, alt-R&B introspection.
Fusing into a potent whole, wilo is particularly proud of being able to share her song ‘crush’. She comments:
“I wrote this song like a conversation… All the things I wish I had the courage to say to someone I was falling for. When I have a crush on someone it’s so intense and all consuming, all the up and down emotions are so exciting, fast, and fun which is what I tried to portray in this song.”
Discussing the EP as a whole, she notes: “I wanted to try things and step outside of my comfort zone a bit – to dabble into different subgenres…”
