Willy Mason is set to return with his first album in over five years – grab a preview below.
An acoustic clad troubadour, Willy Mason seems to somehow have fallen through the cracks. An accomplished songwriter, the American talent largely withdrew from the music world about five years ago.
Deciding that a return was overdue, Willy Mason sketched out a new album last year. Due for release later in 2012, the LP represents the songwriter’s first new move in some five years.
Confirming plans for a British tour, the songwriter then decided to give away a track from his as yet un-titled new album. ‘Restless Fugitive’ is exactly what you would expect – wonderful songwriting with Willy Mason’s breathy, country-soaked voice to the fore.

A quick press quote from Willy Mason: “The album itself is about growing up and trying to find one’s place. I think of this record as the third and final chapter to a particular narrative that started with ‘Where the Humans Eat'”.
Confirmed to support Ben Howard on his lengthy nationwide trek, Willy Mason has also plotted two standalone London shows. Taking place at the Hoxton Bar & Kitchen over two nights, the first show has already sold out.
