Willy Hobal has shared his debut EP ‘Virgo’ in full.
The Dominican-born, Switzerland-based artist has an irrepressible sense of energy, and this bursts through in his songwriting. Bold and vivacious, there’s a huge degree of colour in his work, alongside a thirst for melody.
A flurry of singles have sketched out his identity, with Willy Hobal now sharing his debut EP in full. Out now, ‘Virgo’ is an interstellar treat, one infused with the delights of the cosmos, a project that gazes longingly to the future.
Playing – ‘Willy From The Block’ looks to his adolescence – it also strikes hard, the production both frisky and dynamic. Lead single ‘On The Dancefloor’ is a case in point, a celebration of gay love that also looks to some darker moments.

“‘On The Dancefloor’ is about celebrating gay love on the dance floor, when I worked in this piece I went to my teenage time, I was heartbroken because a few months before I broke up with my boyfriend at the time, So as a strong Virgo I took all my energy to the dance floor, dancing my pain away. There on the same dance floor I met a hot guy and we connected immediately. Dance all night and make-out.”
