Willow Kayne has returned today with new single, ‘Robot Lovers’.
Her first official release as an independent artist, ‘Robot Lovers’ follows last year’s standalone single ‘Cola Head’. A charged diary entry about digi-centric disenchantment, Willow bemoans how modern love has been warped by AI and algorithms through the lustre of retro-futurist production, and a stratified, enhanced vocal. The release affirms the Ivor Novello-awarded artist’s foundations as a cerebral pop musician, merging contemporary storytelling with sonic dispatches from the future.
Of ‘Robot Lovers’ conception, Willow Kayne says: “‘Robot Lovers’ is about how the internet has warped our generation’s perception of love, resulting in us never being fully satisfied. We are programmed to want something that doesn’t exist. The song talks about how even if you had an AI generated perfect match for you, it still just wouldn’t feel right.”
Expect more from the UK talent this year, in the meantime tune into ‘Robot Lovers’.
