Will Joseph Cook Pushes Back Against Negativity With ‘MF BASSLINE’

"Hopefully someone who’s struggling feels seen by the lyrics..."

Will Joseph Cook returns with new single ‘MF BASSLINE’.

The London artist returned in 2022, sharing his album ‘Every Single Thing’ in full. Continually creative, he almost immediately began exploring fresh ideas, new ways of approaching pop.

Launching plans for a major North American tour, Will Joseph Cook decided to treat fans to something unexpected. Out now, new single ‘MF BASSLINE’ blends aspects of hip-hop production with his alt-pop sound, resulting in something booming and direct.

An attempt to push back against negativity, ‘MF BASSLINE’ is about picking yourself up, and learning to move beyond the darkness. Lyrically, it’s Will Joseph Cook realising that if he isn’t kind to himself… then no one else will.

A deft, muscular performance, it’s capped by a surreal video. Will Joseph Cook comments…

‘MF BASSLINE’ is about giving my inner negativity a voice. In the past I always felt uncomfortable indulging that rawness but I’ve learnt that bottling it up only seems to make it worse. For me music is the best way to release all those sticky destructive thoughts.

When a beat really rips it can totally transform your emotions into something euphoric. Hopefully someone who’s struggling feels seen by the lyrics and the track helps them air out their issues a bit.

Tune in now.

Catch Will Joseph Cook on tour in the UK this summer, including a Village Underground, London show on July 6th.
