Damon Albarn has indicated that Blur might just record another album.
Ah, the torrid tale of Blur's next studio album…
Reforming with a rare sense of grace, the success of Blur's ongoing live shows have prompted enormous speculation about their next move. Initially, Damon Albarn seemed keen on the idea but the frontman later seemed to recant on this during an interview with The Guardian.
Arguing that he had been mis-interpreted, the rumours seemed to die down. A one off single emerged, but since then Blur have focussed on live engagements.
Playing Hong Kong’s AsiaWorld-Expo over the weekend, Damon Albarn subdued the band to speak with the crowd. Musing on a series of postponed Japanese shows, the singer then said: "So we have a week in Hong Kong, and we thought it would be a good time to try and record another record."
For the record, here's a video of Damon Albarn saying those exact words.
