Will Arcade Fire Release A New Album In 2013?

Rumours mount...

Rumours are mounting that Arcade Fire will release a new album later this year.

Arcade Fire have made no secret of their plans to record new material. The band's trip to Haiti to perform at various locations on the island aside, the Canadian group have spent the bulk of the past year in the studio.

Across the weekend, reports emerged suggesting that the fruits of their labour could soon see the light of day. Revolt – the music channel owned by P Diddy – have claimed that Arcade Fire will release a new studio album this Autumn. (via Consequence of Sound)

September 9th is the date being mooted, with representatives of the band refusing to comment. James Murphy, though, has no qualms about commenting on the group's progress.

Last month the producer spoke about his experiences of working with Arcade Fire, explaining that the band have amassed a slew of new material.

"There’s a lot of them, and they’re mostly self-produced – like, they don’t need a producer in a certain way," he said. "I think it’s going to be a really great record, actually."

Fingers crossed, James… fingers crossed.
