Grime star Wiley has teamed up with super producer Mark Ronson to create a new track named ‘Cash In My Pocket’ based on Gordon Brown’s handling of the credit crunch.
The new track has already leaked online, where it has become a cult favorite. ‘Cash In My Pocket’ features the sublime vocal talents of Daniel Merriweather, the Australian singer who worked on Ronson’s ‘Versions’ album.
Despite being one of the most recognizable voices in pop, Merriweather has yet to release an album under his own name. That may soon change, however, with Ronson currently producing a number of sessions with the singer.
Wiley was a founding member of the Roll Deep Crew, before going on to act as a mentor to the young Dizzee Rascal. One of the foremost voices in UK hip hop, he is a major figure on the grime scene.
Wiley releases the Mark Ronson produced track ‘Cash In My Pocket’ in January.
