Grime star Wiley has mysteriously disappeared after failing to show up for Hot Chip’s UK tour, with the electro group non-plussed as to his whereabouts.
The group rounded off their tour with an amazing performance at London’s Brixton Academy on November 8th, but sadly Wiley was nowhere to be seen. Booked as the main tour support, the grime star missed an earlier gig in Manchester and the band thought it wise to replace him for subsequent shows.
Bizarrely, Hot Chip have no idea where their tour support is. Al Doyle told BBC 6Music “I’d love to be able to clear that up but unfortunately I’ve got about as much information on that as anybody else.
“He didn’t make it down to the show in Manchester and we waited around for a while, we thought he might turn up. The last contact we had was a blank text message so it’s a bit of an information desert to be honest.”
“I’d love to be able to give you some sort of inside scoop but unfortunately it’s mysterious, it’s almost like some sort of religious experience.”
According to guitarist Doyle no one in Wiley’s camp is sure where the hit artist is, either. “We could only go on what his manager was telling us and his manager didn’t know what was going on.”
