Outlandish indie group Wild Beasts are set to follow on the success of their latest album with a new single.
Hailing from Kendal, there is something of the small town maverick in Wild Beasts. Lead singer Hayden Thorpe’s voice is grandiose, often verging on classical. With his high keening tones, the band’s lyrics hint at a vast literary knowledge.
Snapped up by Domino Records, Wild Beasts’ debut album ‘Limbo, Panto’ was a cult favourite. Amid a raft of identikit indie groups here was a band who were unafraid to be themselves, working in a self-made universe.
Follow up ‘Two Dancers’ is a leap forwards. Making good on their initial promise the album follows up on the debut record’s idiosyncrasies by being even more unique and idiosyncratic, featuring a band at ease with their own voice.
Earning rave reviews, ClashMusic recently put the album under the critical microscope – click HERE to find out how it got on!
