Wild Beasts are set to get the remix treatment on a forthcoming double 12 inch release.
With their second album ‘Two Dancers’ Wild Beasts seem to tap into something driven, daring. The Kendal band went to the moors for inspiration, with their wind swept music seeming to come from within.
A complex yet thrilling album, ‘Two Dancers’ has enjoyed a lasting success. Critically well received it helped established the band as an artistic force, mixing complex word play with sweeping arrangements.
Touring across Europe and North America, Wild Beasts are now set to gain the remix treatment. The indie mavericks have been re-worked by a variety of producers for a forthcoming double 12 inch pack.
Canadian synth-pop duo Junior Boys have taken on the band, adding their own beats to their music. Meanwhile, producer Jon Hopkins has taken Wild Beasts’ music and shifted it into a dancefloor context.
Both acts are label mates of Wild Beasts, and take up the first 12 inch in the pack. For the second, though, the band are set to get re-worked by two extremely inventive electronic artists.
Oneohtrix Point Never has earned huge acclaimed this year, recently working with Antony Hegarty. The Brooklyn based producer has turned Wild Beasts inside out, adding a blissful psychedelic element.
Meanwhile composer and arranger Son Lux completes the quartet of remixes, focussing on the tension within the band’s music.
Set to be released on November 8th, the unusual project demonstrates the respect Wild Beasts have earned with their second album. All four remixes are available to stream now, to have a listen just click HERE.
