Wichita Records, the home to Bloc Party, Los Campesinos! and Simian Mobile Disco amongst others, have announced plans for a FREE label sampler available to download right now.
The label was formed by Dick Green after his former home – the legendary Creation imprint – imploded. Green retained his love of music amid the chaos of that endeavor and, rather than accept a job in the industry, returned to his roots and created Wichita. Beginning as a tiny independent Wichita has grown to become one of the UK’s top labels, with a roster that spans folk, indie and dance.
The new digital sampler contains some of the label’s biggest acts, alongside some who may be new to you. Euros Child is the latest project from ex-members of Welsh folk wizards Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci, while Those Dancing Days are a Scandinavian girl group.
Amongst the highlights of the new sampler is a preview of Los Campesinos! new album, and a track by long time Wichita signing Conor Oberst.
