Whitney Fenimore Channels Introspection on Latest Single, ‘New Normal’

The Oklahoma singer-songwriter unveils a vulnerable and introspective dimension to her artistry...

Whitney Fenimore has shared her latest single, ‘New Normal’.

A sincere and momentous indie-folk offering, the Oklahoma singer-songwriter continues to spotlight her artistic evolution. Accentuating her songwriting through a more direct, emotionally-charged introspection, Fenimore now ventures into themes of mental health, relationships and self-understanding over a stripped-back production. From beginning to end, ‘New Normal’ finds a balance between its warm yet shadowy qualities, creating an intimate and unique listen.

Introduced to music through her religious upbringing, the queer artist would later shape her craft in the cities of Los Angeles and Nashville. Steering towards a new direction, Fenimore has now released multiple full-length projects and opened stages for the likes of Lori McKenna, Julia Michaels, The Brilliance, and Jake Scott. In turn, the artist continues to discover new forms of self-expression, expanding her sound palette with each studio session.

Speaking on her latest release, Fenimore shares: “‘New Normal’ is about people’s assumptions and not letting those define you. It’s about me learning to love myself for who I am and being unapologetic about that.”
