White Lies have revealed that their forthcoming second album is set to gain some special remixes.
A stunning success, White Lies’ debut album ‘To Lose My Life’ was an example of stirring British indie rock. Racing straight to the top of the charts, the band’s glacial riffs seemed to capture the mood of the nation.
However alongside this White Lies explored electronic music. A series of remixes saw the band’s material given a new twist, with the likes of Crystal Castles tackling the band’s debut album.
Returning with new material, the band have explored dense industrial beats. Drummer Jack Lawrence-Brown revealed that fans can expect creeping electronic influences on new album ‘Ritual’.
“There’s a couple of songs which features beats, and there’s a lot of synths on the new album. A lot of sequenzed things, which is something we haven’t really explored before. It’s nice to have some clearly electronic elements along with all the natural sounds” he said.
“We didn’t want to overdo it, as we didn’t want to redefine ourselves – going electro, or something. We haven’t gone electro, we’re still a rock band”.
Continuing, the drummer explained that White Lies have begun searching out producers to remix their new material. “When the album was finished we took a week to write down a list of people who we wanted to do remixes. We’ve been sending tracks out there via the label, so we’ve already had a few answers” he said.
“We’ve pitched pretty high in terms of what we wanted, moving from house to minimal stuff as well. There’s a really good spread of styles and hopefully some big names as well.”
