White Denim To Release Live Album

Via Third Man

White Denim are set to lay their live set down on vinyl for a special release on Third Man.

Psychedelic warriors, cosmonauts of inner space, deep fried Texans… White Denim are a lot of things but retro they ain’t. The band’s vision of psychedelic music blasts off into the future, with their new album ‘D’ impressing critics on both sides of the Atlantic.

Previous record ‘Fits’ has a dose of punk-funk in its veins, but follow up ‘D’ is pure lysergic jamming. A loose, heavy release Texan four piece White Denim have rarely sounded so inspired, so irresistible.

Obviously Jack White has been checking out the band as well. White Denim were recently invited to record a live set at the Third Man studios in Nashville, which will be given a vinyl only release.

The listing on the Third Man website details just how excited the label are to be involved with the band. “If you like your Southern Rock sun baked, damaged, and reaching towards the planets, this record is for you. Better writers than me have tried in vain to describe where White Denim is at musically these days and failed, but suffice to say this record would be at home on a record shelf not only packed with Lee Hazelwood records but also Pharoah Sanders and Amon Duul. The only way you’re going to be able to make sense of that last sentence is to buy the album.”

Meanwhile, White Denim recently completed their latest UK tour. Including some very special dates, the tour ended with a one off London headline show at the Electric Ballroom on September 1st.

Releasing their single ‘Is And Is And Is’ on Monday (September 5th) White Denim will be back shortly.
