A celebration of Wales' diverse musical output, the Welsh Music Prize is always a useful barometer of creativity within Cymru.
This year proves to be no exception. Unveiling the nominations for the Welsh Music Prize 2014, organisers may just have pieced together their most eclectic list to date.
Cardiff based Joanna Gruesome get the nod for their acclaimed debut album, while future of the left also receive a nomination for 'how to stop your brain in an accident'.
Gruff Rhys is nominated for his ambitious 'American Interior' set, while Manic Street Preachers gain entry with their 'Futurology' long player.
Elsewhere, 9Bach, Cate Le Bon, Samoans, The People The Poet and more have all been nominated for this year's Welsh Music Prize.
