CVC have shared their new single ‘Sophie’.
The band will release their debut album on January 13th, and it follows a helter-skelter year of live shows. Smashing through the festival season, CVC have brought some much-needed glamour – and songcraft – to an often slate-grey indie scene.
New single ‘Sophie’ is a case in point. A heart-on-sleeve song of yearning, the countrified guitar adds some naked feeling to their work.
CVC play it straight, a song that speaks tenderly of all-too-true feelings. The band say…
“[Sophie] is a love letter to Nanial’s wonderful girlfriend, and about how she can sing; the whole sing, and nothing but the sing – but won’t sing in front of the band the closest we ever got was the spoken-word intro she gave us for this tune.”
