Seminal US act Weezer are set to return with their first new album since 2005’s “Make Believe” set, and have begun streaming comeback single “Pork And Beans” on their official site.
Weezer brought a taste of the underground to the Billboard charts during the 90s, becoming one of the biggest US alternative acts in that decade. After a long hiatus, the band returned with “The Green Album” in 2001.
The new single is a typically acerbic blast of geek rock, heavily indebted to classic US underground acts such as Pavement. “Pork And Beans” will be released in the US on April 24th, with the new album – titled “Weezer” – due out on June 24th.
“Pork And Beans” is being streamed on both the band’s myspace page and official website.
