According to reports online, US geek rockers Weezer may be set to release a new album of demos titled ‘Alone 2: The Home Recordings’ in November.
Earlier this year Weezer mainman Rivers Cuomo released a volume of demos, which was greeted with fascination by fans. A unique insight into one of American alternative rock’s most fertile imaginations, it contained tracks meant for a musical as well as early versions of hits such as ‘Buddy Holly’.
Amazon has begun listing ‘Alone 2: The Home Recordings’ although no information is set alongside the album, apart from a release date – November 25th.
The band have already announced that they are to take a break from recording after this year’s ‘Red Album’ release. The band’s third self-titled album, it is referred to by fans by the color of its cover.
In other Weezer related news, a recent Dallas Observer report suggests that Weezer’s next official single off The Red Album will be “The Greatest Man That Ever Lived (Variations on a Shaker Hymn)” – which may well be accompanied by a Spike Jonze directed video.
