Weezer Announce Special Gig

Fans To Join Singer Onstage

Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo has announced a very special one off gig that will see fans join him onstage to promote his new solo album ‘Alone 2 – The Home Recordings Of Rivers Cuomo’.

Weezer have been active of late, releasing new album ‘The Red Album’ while also touring extensively. The band have been put on ice for the time being, with Cuomo set to release the second installment of his home demos.

A forthcoming gig at Fingerprints Records, Long Beach, California has been announced for November 25th. The gig will be a very special one off show in which the singer will be joined onstage by fans.

Cuomo said: “Anyone can be a part of it, you don’t have to bring an instrument. But if you do bring an instrument, you will be part of the team that gets to pick the songs we play.

“It can be any song, in some cases, it might just be one person who says, like, ‘oh! Let’s play this obscure b-side!’, and he may be the only person in the room who knows it, besides me, and then it will just be me and that person giving a concert to the rest of the room.”

Cuomo also plans to have a computer onstage, should a fan request a song that he can’t quite remember. Which, given the obsessive nature of some of the group’s fanbase, is quite likely.
