Workaholic twee types The Wave Pictures are set to return soon with their new single ‘If You Leave It Alone’.
Formed by singer Dave Tattersall, the band kicked up a fuss with their charming live show and seemingly never endless run of self-effacing songs.
Eventually signing with Moshi Moshi, debut album ‘Instant Coffee Baby’ was a critical success on its release last year. At times reminiscent of Jonathan Richman, the album was stuffed full of twee goodness.
Since then, however, the band have hardly stopped working. Recording a single late last year, The Wave Pictures came up with a unique concept – to make the process entirely green.
The studio was powered by renewable energy, and everyone involved cycled to work. Sessions for the single proved to be so productive that the band immediately launched into work on a new album, to be released soon.
Before then, however, The Wave Pictures will release their new single ‘If You Leave It Alone’ on May 4th. The band have also confirmed a number of tour dates:
