Willis Earl Beal has unveiled the hand drawn video for his recent song ‘Evening’s Kiss’.
Once homeless, Willis Earl Beal is now hot property. The Chicago artist’s gentle songcraft almost seems to fade into nothing, with his lo-fi boombox recordings retaining a profound sense of character.
Now signed to XL off-shoot Hot Charity, Willis Earl Beal is set to release his debut album ‘Acousmatic Sorcery’ on April 2nd. Lead track ‘Evening’s Kiss’ has already caused waves – named Track Of The Day on ClashMusic, in fact – and now the songwriter has crafted a hand-drawn video.

Earlier this year Willis Earl Beal reflected on the meaning of ‘Evening’s Kiss’ revealing that it was inspired by his infatuation with a waitress. Finding himself in a local diner, the musician became infatuated with a waitress and would dress up in a suit to impress her.
“I felt like ‘Jesus Christ, I’m just a fraud. I’m here and I’m deluding myself into thinking that this person is actually interested in me,” he said.
