The Shins frontman James Mercer recently filmed a comedy sketch for Funny Or Die.
The Shins are back – almost. New album ‘Port Of Morrow’ drops on March 19th, ending a wait for new material which stretches past two years.
From what we’ve heard so far, fans could be in for something special. A number of videos and free downloads have already been unveiled, demonstrating that The Shins’ nous for powerful songwriting is still in place.
But the band aren’t always serious. James Mercer recently cut loose, filming a sketch for Funny Or Die.
The short clip features the frontman attempting to get the perfect clapping sound. Given that the sketch is titled ‘Clapping Butter’ you may well surmise what happens…

Preparing to return to live duties, The Shins have now announced a one off London show. Taking place at the Forum on March 22nd, the show will see the band preview material from ‘Port Of Morrow’.
