French / Finnish duo The Dø have unveiled some beautiful footage shot in a Parisian studio.
The French music scene is remarkably insular. Take The Dø. A French-Finnish duo their moody debut ‘A Mouthful’ shot to number one in their Gallic homeland but failed to dent the charts in the UK.
Which is, of course, our loss. Since then, The Dø have played a number of live shows and returned to the studio. Polishing off album #2, the band are ready to release ‘Both Ways Open Jaws’ on November 14th.
Sitting somewhere between Bjork, The Knife and Joni Mitchell, The Dø meld together electronics with some startling songcraft.
Recently dropping by Parisian studio Pigalle to record a live session, the band allowed a film crew to watch them work. Director Franck Seiler caught the group in action, with the evocative footage capturing a group who seem ready to shift onto the next level.
