For a special 1Xtra session...

Summer Walker stopped past 1Xtra at the weekend for a special live performance.

The R&B queen is fresh from the release of new album 'Still Over It', which won across the board praise for its soulful virtuosity.

In the Clash review, Josh Abraham wrote:

"As the evening comes to a close for this writer, this album serves up Summer Walker’s best work yet. It’s brutal, yet romantic, it’s fun, yet flirty, it’s everything any listener could be wanting. A rollercoaster of emotions and she’s not even finished yet."

For this new 1Xtra session, Summer Walker performed two cuts from her recent album, breathing new life into 'Playing Games' and 'Toxic'.

Alongside this, she opted to cover 'Bag Lady' by Erykah Badu - a perennial touchstone in her work, it appears on her seminal 2000 album 'Mama's Gun'.

Reworked in her own inimitable style, it follows last year's Rolling Stone tete a tete between the two R&B legends.
