Rihanna performed her song ‘Lift Me Up’ at the Academy Awards last night (March 12th).
The music and fashion icon recently took charge of the Super Bowl Halftime Show, electrifying fans with a career-spanning medley. Rihanna’s single ‘Lift Me Up’ was included on the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, and gained a nomination for Best Original Song at this year’s Oscars.
During the ceremony, Rihanna gave an emotional performance of the song – with partner A$AP Rocky cheering her on from the audience.
Clips of the performance are now online – find them below.
Alas, Rihanna lost out in the category – M.M. Keeravaani took home the Best Original Song trophy for his anthem ‘Naatu Naatu’ from the film RRR.
In a recent interview, Rihanna was asked about the potential for a new album:
“I want it to be this year. … Like, honestly, it’d be ridiculous if it’s not this year. But I just want to have fun. I just want to make music and make videos.”
