Watch Phoebe Bridgers, Arlo Parks, Guy Garvey Recite Children’s Stories At Glastonbury
As part of CBeebies’ Bedtime Stories series…
CBeebies hit Glastonbury over the weekend, recruiting some fantastic artists for their Bedtime Stories series.
The premise is simple: well-known figures read their favourite work by a children’s author, and the results often make for fantastic telly. Something for all the family, previous instalments have been helmed by Harry Styles, Dolly Parton, Elton John, and Dave Grohl, amongst many others.
Racing down to Worthy Farm, CBeebies’ Bedtime Stories recruited Phoebe Bridgers, with the American artist reading Kat Patrick’s The Spectacular Suit.
Arlo Parks was a real Glastonbury highlight, and the Clash cover star read Once Upon A Rhythm, written by James Carter and illustrated by Valerio Vidali.
She comments:
“It was an absolute pleasure to read a CBeebies Bedtime Story from Glastonbury and bring joy and dreams to young people – what a special moment!”
elbow frontman Guy Garvey read Nicola Kinnear’s story A Little Bit Brave to an audience of children, commenting:
“The first time I did a CBeebies bedtime story it was for the rest of the band’s kids, I didn’t have any of my own. Now I’ve got one and they’ve got more…”
“The book I’ve chosen is a favourite bought for me by my best friend Pete Jobson who also has a couple of munchkins. So this is a lovely way to do something for all of them and to be doing it at the best party in the world is a super bonus.”
