Watch: Neon Indian Infomercial

Alan Palomo constructs a new synth

Neon Indian has produced a handy new infomercial for his newly designed synth.

Real name Alan Palomo, Neon Indian didn’t expect his music to gain an audience beyond his bedroom. Yet the surprise success of ‘Psychic Chasms’ – released in 2009 and still making waves – proved him wrong.

Returning with his new album ‘Era Extrana’ on October 10th, the producer was given the opportunity to build his own synth.

Working with Bleep labs in Texas, Neon Indian unveiled the PAL198X synth earlier this year. Demanding that fans hack the instrument, the producer has now completed a brand new infomercial to promote the synth.

A statement from Neon Indian earlier this year outlined his motives and demonstrated a little of the creative process…

“We teamed up with our brethren homies in Austin, Bleep Labs, to proudly bring you the PAL 198X. It’s a triple triangle-wave oscillator noisemaking device with interchangeable controls for maximal sonic contortion. You can attach knobs, light-reactive photocells, and a variety of other devices for semi-modular capabilities. It can interact with a variety of objects around your house whether electronic in nature or not. It can even interact with your pet. It does not make the same sound twice. Basically, I want you to hack this fucking thing.”

Neon Indian is set to release his new album ‘Era Extrana’ on November 16th. The producer has also confirmed a one off London show, details of which are as follows:

November
16 London Heaven
