Watch Kyla x Bailey Bryan Perform ‘One Dance’

It's a completely stripped back rendition...

Somehow, a UK Funky banger would up featuring in the music of a Canadian rapper, and went on to shatter chart records in the process.

The strange tale of Kyla, 'Do You Mind', Drake, and the global hit that is 'One Dance' allowed the UK artist to come to the fore, her voice being instantly recognisable to millions.

300 Entertainment (Young Thug, Fetty Wap) signed artist Bailey Bryan is a huge fan of the track, and sought out the voice behind it.

The two sat down together recently, recording a stripped back version of 'One Dance' that leans back towards Kyla's soulful roots.

Little more than one acoustic guitar and two voices, it's a fun re-working of an all-out banger. Bailey comments: "You know a song is dope when it can be interpreted a bunch of different ways, and obviously, 'One Dance' is one of those songs."

"Drake is a huge influence for me, but Kyla’s unique voice and hook on the original 'Do You Mind' are what made the song what it is. My goal is always to make that kind of impression with my own music, so to get to collaborate with somebody who’s done it so well is an absolute dream for me. Collaboration, fluidity and creativity are just so important, and all things that I hope to represent with the music I’m releasing."

She adds: "I live for experiences like this. And also Kyla is an absolute QUEEN. That is all."

For her part, UK Funky queen and soulful artiste Kyla comments: "Songs can take their own journey the day I wrote ‘Do You Mind’ it started a new path for me, Drake then evolved into ‘One Dance’ which as a singer and songwriter was beyond amazing."

"The minute I heard Bailey’s voice I knew I wanted to work with her, not only is her voice beautiful but her brilliant energy made the collaboration what it is. She is a star and I can’t wait to see what’s next for her…"
