Joanna Newsom played her first live set in three years last night (March 23rd).
The alt-folk performer – and her harp – were the surprise guests for Fleet Foxes show at the Belasco, Los Angeles, with singer Robin Peckold telling the crowd: “Without further ado, I present the high priestess of acoustic music, Joanna Newsom…”
The set was unannounced prior to the show, and represents Joanna Newsom’s first public performance since 2020. The harpist’s last studio album ‘Divers’ came in 2015.
