Jandek is perhaps the ultimate outsider musician.
For decades, fans only knew the songwriter through his music – eschewing interviews, little to no biographical details existed in the public realm.
Shrouded in rumour and mythology, Jandek has gradually come in from the cold. Agreeing to appear on the cover of The Wire, the American artist is now the subject of an intimate documentary.
Not the first Jandek film to reach celluloid – that honour belongs to 'Jandek on Corwood' in 2003 – new documentary 'I Know You Well' was directed and co-produced by Ashkan Soltani.
A Kickstarter page has been started for the film, with the director explaining to the 13th Track that he has been handed "unprecedented access" in order to complete an "intimate observation of Jandek’s creative process."
