Known for producing warped, woozy bass-led bouts of electronic introspection, James Blake’s debut album demonstrated a different side to his output. Covering Feist, the producer had a clear love for songwriting in a classic sense.
Recording a session for Radio 1, James Blake covered ‘A Case Of You’ by Joni Mitchell. Gathering a life of its own, the track gained critical acclaim and was added to the singer’s recent EP ‘Enough Thunder’.
Now a striking video for the track has emerged online. Directed by film-maker Seb Edwards, the short clip is dominated by the performance of Rebecca Hall.
The camera follows a young woman around her flat, seemingly documenting one side of a turbulent relationship. Matching the focussed, claustrophobic feel of the recording you can watch the clip below…
